The Infinite Approach to Your Business

from Simon Sinek’s The Infinite Game

Are you approaching your business with the wrong mindset?

I know I was!

Before listening to The Infinite Game by Simon Sinek, my measure of success in my business was all about the bottom line.

See, prior to starting my first business, my only experience in the workforce was in corporate America, where the bottom line is king. The idea that success could be measured by something else had never really dawned on me. However, from the first moments of reading Simon’s take on the traditional measurements of “winning” in business (essentially that they’re meaningless), my eyes were opened to a whole new way of doing business.

See, the point he makes is that all these businesses that call themselves “the best” or “# 1” are working from their own metrics. It’s not like everyone in your industry has come together to agree upon what data everyone will measure themselves against…so from that perspective, literally every single business could call themselves #1…so long as they pick data points at which they are the best.

It’s the equivalent of a participation trophy for kids’ sports…feels nice, but it doesn’t really mean anything.

This realization changed everything for me.

I’ve always struggled with comparing myself and my business to others and always feeling like I couldn’t compete.

The Infinite Game showed me that I’m not competing with any of them…I’m only competing with myself.

If you are on the comparison struggle bus, too, listen to this week’s episode. I truly believe that Simon will open your eyes to an entirely new way of doing everything in your business…and you’ll fall in love with it all over again.
