The Power of Focus: Unlocking Your Full Potential

A New Perspective on Why

When we decide to start a business, many of us become sponges for all of the mentoring and advice we can find on becoming an entrepreneur.

If you join this journey as a part of a team, you might even find some direct training to guide you along the way.

My first business was something I did on my own, but down the line, I ended up trying my hand as a network marketer, and while that didn’t ultimately work out for me, I learned so much from that time in my business-owner journey!

One of the things I heard a lot was about how important it was to know my “Why”.

When I sat down to start listening to Simon’s book, to be honest, I kinda expected it to be an extension of what I learned back then…but boy was I wrong (and I’ve never been so happy to be wrong!)

While my network-marking Why was focused on me and my reasons for being in business (ie. time and financial freedom, to leave a legacy, etc.), Simon’s approach looks outward rather than inward.

His “Why” is more aligned with our Purpose, but it’s so much more than that!

I’m not going to dive too deep here because I really think you should listen to this week’s episode(s) and listen to Simon’s book for yourself, but I did want to touch on The Golden Circle.

The Golden Circle is Simon’s guiding principle as he makes any decisions for his business.

For example, in my business when I’m deciding on a new potential service to offer, he would tell me to start by asking myself Why.

Does this serve my greater Purpose/Cause/Belief?

If it passes that test, then How would my Values play a role here?

Once I have clarity for the Why and the How, then it’s time to look at the What. What, specifically, can I create here to better serve my clients?

Now, this clearly all assumes that you have clearly defined your Why (Purpose) and your How (Values), but once you do, the What’s seem to fall into place so much easier.

Inspired?

Ya, me too!!

I can’t wait to hear what you come up with!
